Economics Debate Cup
The Debate Society and the Economics Society are partnering to bring this unique and interesting event to campus. The debate will be conducted in British Parliament style. Guests including .... (if you have any info on the people who will be debating i can insert it here)...will be discussing some of the more controversial economic policies in the UK today, including (let me know if we have any details on specific topics).
Economics Policy Challenge
This competition aims to establish the ultimate platform for vibrant student discussions on issues surrounding current economic policies, through leveraging LSE’s unique central London location and the school’s strong research expertise in this area. Given the importance of economic policies and the role they play in our society, as leaders and decision makers of tomorrow university students should actively participate in the study and discussion of this subject. Through this initiative, we hope to encourage fellow students to study economic policies in greater depth, critically examine the decisions by policy makers and provide their own solutions to difficult policy problems. LSE Economics Conference - "Lessons from the Crisis"The central theme of the LSE Economics Conference – Spring Convention 2010 is "Lessons from the Crises" and it will focus on the big changes in terms of economic paradigm among economic and financial professionals and academics. We seek to examine the potential development of the global and local economics system, the inadequacies in the current economics theories and models, the projection of global economic well-being in the near to medium term future.
Economics In Action Forum
How are industry leaders faring in today's changed economy? How has their business adapted, and what challenges does an altered economy pose? A panel of distinguished speakers from an array of industries will be discussing and offering insight on the economic issues currently impacting their companies.
A-level student Essay Competition
A-level students are invited to submit essays on topics within the field of econimics. The winning essays will be published in Rationale Magazine.
